Pricing questions
The things people ask us first.
What's a domain, and what's hosting?
Hosting is where your site lives, the storefront. That's what Lanlan does. A domain is your address, like yourbiz.com, the sign on the door. Buying one right here is most convenient, or connect one you already have by inputting the DNS codes we give you at your domain registrar (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap).
On the free plan you get hosting plus a yourbiz.lanlan.site address, so you don't need a domain until you want one.
What am I paying for with Pro?
Hosting, your own domain connected for you, payments and donations through Stripe, scheduling and waitlists, multiple collaborators, and removing the "Made with Lanlan" note from your site. $15 a month per site, or $180 a year.
We do not charge transaction fees on top of Stripe, and we don't have ads. Your domain is separate, about $10 a year, and we don't make anything on it.
Can I cancel?
Yes, one click, no walls. Your free site keeps working; you lose only the paid features. You can also export your whole site and take it anywhere.
Full Service or Kickstart: which fits?
Kickstart fits a straightforward site with three or four main pages, for someone who's hands-on and happy to learn.
Full Service fits organizations with more content to organize, like newsletters or a blog, a resource library, or several audiences, or where a board and other stakeholders need to weigh in.
What does the $250 a month cover?
Hosting, plus a dedicated person who answers within a day and can hop on a quick call when you need one. Each month you also get 30 minutes of focused, hands-on time for new ideas, like starting a blog or setting up RSVPs for an event, and one place to manage your site and everyone who edits it.
Organizations that want more hands-on support can go up to $500.
How can we get our board to approve this?
We start by rebuilding your homepage free, so your board sees the real thing. Then one fixed price in writing, with payment plans or budget-cycle timing if you need them.
